Salamander's MooD Technology combines the ability to build architectures, define and manage change programmes, increase performance and create business intelligence solutions - all based on a common Enterprise Business Model.

  • Creating business architectures leading to greater control, coherence and governance, and from these confident views helps
  • define, communicate and manage change. Keeping the enterprise up-to-date with developing needs. Then ensuring achievement of goals by
  • monitoring, investigating and reporting on performance by integrating with run-time systems & data. Critical information for better decision making and investment management.

From monolithic, inflexible structures to component based architectures; which allow enterprises to change shape more quickly and with agility.

Such a model-driven capability which maintains the integrity of the solution during change is a fundamental asset in managing the enterprise agenda. Essential Core functionality in three key areas make this possible.

1. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) – Staying Agile
As the world moves away from monolithic applications and business designs that become over complicated and costly to change, MooD provides a business-driven, component-based approach. It is the first truly business-driven Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) solution. It is infinitely flexible, allowing the enterprise model to be easily re-configured to match new business developments. Business and technology designs can be storyboarded, tested, re-arranged and re-orchestrated.

Adhering to 'open standards', the MooD software integrates with other development environments. The solution helps manage SOA environments giving users control over their own strategy, design and implementation – providing flexibility and choice to deploy and manage the downstream solutions that best match their changing business developments.

2. Domain Specific Language (DSL) - Industry aligned
MooD is also a business driven Domain Specific Language (DSL). On its own, SOA provides a modular yet generic answer to business problems. Combining with DSL technology allows us to build and work with the language and taxonomy for a particular business or problem domain making implementation much faster and more reliable. The crucial business constraints of time, speed and reliability are dramatically improved - transforming a business's response to issues.

DSL should not be confused with process templates or blueprints that historically have been the response. They have been good tools to quick-start business solutions but suffer their own constraints of inflexibility.

3. Activation Technology - integrates with run-time environment
Salamander has built and patented Activation Technology that allows the enterprise business model to be connected with real world systems and information, thereby allowing it to become an integral part of the 'operating system' that runs the business. Active architectures are not islands - - the preserve of specialists - - but are embedded within the fabric of the enterprise, interoperating with a range of other technologies to deliver a wide range of key solutions through a common platform.
